Meet the Founders
Turning Passion Into Action
We are Jerry and Josette Coleman, the founders of The Bless Cookies Community Network. Driven by a compassion to spread some desperately needed brotherly love during the 2020 pandemic, we started baking, mailing, and hand delivering cookies to family, friends and anyone who came to mind. What began as a way to uplift people through a small treat soon became a deeper mission as the challenges of food insecurity in our community were brought to light. We began seeing how life changing receiving nutritious foods, learning how to prepare healthy meals, and receiving encouragement was for individuals who were facing food and financial hardships.
We personally have always found fellowship and community through sharing a meal and cooking for others. Fueling people’s bodies through a comforting meal and souls by spreading the love of Jesus Christ is the heart of what we do. Through the community network we’ve built, we are able to connect individuals in need with food and increase their access to vital resources to help them live healthier lives.
We are grateful for our generous supporters who are helping change lives every day. We encourage you to learn more about food insecurity throughout Greater Richmond, and how you can make a difference alongside us.
